• Treasure in a Fruit Box

There is a method I use when I'm purging our house, keep only what is useful, beautiful or joyful.  I'm a minimalist at heart, but lately my love for things in the 'joyful' category has grown and a few corners of our home have become little treasure troves of bits of bobs collected over the years, all of which spark a memory or a thought for the person who created or gifted it.

It's amazing to me how many people are represented in this one little stack of treasures, and how many memories each item recalls.

It does my heart good to be reminded of the stories behind the trinkets, my craft companion Katie who made the gorgeous tissue paper garland and the vintage binoculars D bought on our trip to Bellingen last October, the heart shaped rock I found on an afternoon walk on Nobbys beach in 2009 and the doily D's Grandma made for our engagement.  Not treasure to anyone but us, but to us, completely priceless.

Proverbs 24:3-4
By wisdom a house is built, and through understanding it is established; through knowledge its rooms are filled with rare and beautiful treasures.
