• Citrus Sunday - Lemon Picking

On Sunday afternoon D and I harvested the fruit of a beautifully abundant eureka lemon.  With the help of three mini pickers, who climbed, threw, rolled and bagged - we harvested five enviro bags full!

On the rare occasion that D and I enter a supermarket together (I usually go solo as D hates supermarkets) D will offer little commentaries as I roll through the aisles.  D is passionate about ethical consuming, organic produce, Australian made, a fair go for farmers amongst many other things, so the major supermarkets can be a pretty grating place for him.  And when we roll through the citrus section he will silently point out the "Lemons 4 for $5" sign and say, "Whoever said money doesn't grow on trees must have been a capitalist".

We didn't count our harvest yesterday, but it is safe to assume we picked over a hundred dollars off this one lemon tree, and it's already in flower ready to produce it all again next year.
